The River Roast is a dark roast with exceptionally rich and flavorful characteristics. This coffee presents a very smooth cup with a hint of a chocolate aftertaste. All of Higher Ground’s coffees are Fair Trade, organic, and shade-grown.

FAIRER MEANS
Fair Trade certification enables the farmers who grow our coffees to keep their family-owned farms and benefit from economic and educational programs, while growing a great organic crop. Our coffees are also grown in the shade of the forest canopy—preserving ancient forests and natural habitat for innumerable species of plants and animals.

The Alabama Rivers Alliance works to protect and restore state rivers through water advocacy, restoration planning, grassroots organizing, and watershed education. Every cup of Higher Ground’s River Roast promotes their goals of clean and healthy ecosystems and communities by donating 10% of the proceeds to the non-profit organization.
